U.L.C. Listed Central Monitoring
The B.C. Building Code and the City of Vancouver require the monitoring of all fire alarm systems and emergency voice communication with all elevator cars to a ULC listed central monitoring station. For over 30 years Bartec Fire Safety Systems has provided central monitoring services for fire alarm panels, and elevator emergency voice and security systems. We only install ULC listed equipment, and together with our central station partners, we offer a service second to none. Bartec's professional technicians attend to every detail, from the installation of phone lines to the set-up of all necessary equipment.
Central monitoring allows the fire alarm panel in a building to contact a central monitoring station as soon as it detects a fire alarm or trouble on the fire alarm system. The monitoring station then calls the fire department saving valuable response time in the event of a fire.
Should the signal be a trouble on the fire alarm system, the operator at the monitoring station contacts appropriate individuals, usually the management or service company. This automatic response saves precious time critical to saving lives and property.
Elevators
Central monitoring of an elevator is similar to that of a fire alarm panel except instead of an electronic signal to a computer, there is a direct voice line between the elevator car and the central station’s operator. This enables the person(s) in the elevator to communicate any trouble with the elevator, directly with someone who can do something about it. The operator is then able to contact the appropriate organization for assistance, either the elevator repair company, or fire rescue.
